Bio

Shankar is a seasoned results-driven professional, vivid multitasker and a visionary leader with over nine years of progressive experience in managing and implementing several large-scale projects in the construction and entertainment industries. He is a first-year MBA student at NC State University specializing in Supply Chain Management, and has expertise in delivering diverse and complicated contracts on time and within budget in India and Middle East. He also possesses excellent proven records of accomplishment in running end-to-end tendering processes for materials and services with an emphasis on post-contract relationship management. 

This year, Shankar is working with personnel at Caterpillar Inc. to develop strategies for improving customers’ experiences and optimizing supply chain planning processes. He is motivated to lead a team of dynamic supply chain professionals in the project management or product development areas. His colleagues recognized him for his expertise in planning, project controls, and data analysis. Post-MBA, with his profound and diverse skill set, he is keen on pursuing senior-level challenging assignments/roles where he can successfully articulate his leadership ability.

Projects Worked on While in the MBA Program

As a research scholar, Shankar is assisting Marilyn Nolte (Jenkins MBA alum and Supply Chain Planning Engineer – Caterpillar Inc.) in developing Excel-based data models for several transportation projects under their BCP division. Part of the immediate goal is to formulate a tracker report and ultimately design an interactive dashboard reflecting cost savings – projects and facility wise. Long term, Shankar will be focusing more on the optimization of supply chain processes through collaborative planning, forecasts, and effective vendor engagements.
