“The students are able to apply their knowledge of their supply chain course and their background research for the projects and develop solutions. We have been able to implement recommendations from many of the projects and immediately see the results of the student’s efforts. The student projects been outside perspectives to finding solutions to the issues with an academic focus. Duke Energy also has an opportunity to look at student performance in action, when we are selecting candidates for internships or future employment.”

"In the two (2) hires we’ve made from NC State’s supply chain program, both not only had the supply chain technical skills but also the leadership skills necessary to be successful in a large, complex environment. Simply put, myself, my team and our stakeholders could see the Return on Investment (ROI) of these new hires in the first couple months of them being on the job."

"John Deere has leveraged our collaboration with NCSU's Supply Chain Resource Cooperative to innovate and strengthen our global supply chain. John Deere has leveraged multiple project teams to benchmark marketplace cost structures, define optimal product line selection and document annual and hourly costs associated with those product selections, optimize replenishment processes and inventory levels across multiple points in the value chain and document and define best practices for measuring direct material cost over the life cycle of a product. The student leveraged their classroom knowledge and previous industry experience to compile useful data/information that yielded important insights regarding the project charters. Working with our project advisors, the teams developed tools, reports, and recommendations that have been deployed and yielded significant results for our organization, our product channels, and our end customers."

"Leveraging NCSU’s Supply Chain Resource Cooperative continues to be an outstanding experience. We have developed a great partnership over the last several years with NCSU SCRC and its students that have supported a number of critical Supply Chain projects for XL Catlin. As part of a recent continuous improvement effort, we engaged a number of students to help in two areas; HR Benefits and Spend Analytics. The students did amazing work developing a sourcing strategy for Travel Insurance and identifying sourcing opportunities for small dollar purchases. The team compiled valuable market insights to develop a creative approach to sourcing Travel Insurance greatly exceeding HR’s expectations. We had great INTERNATIONAL collaboration as we worked in four time zones ( India, US, UK & Poland). The students from NCSU’s Supply Chain Resource Cooperative are great candidates for internships or employment!

"Caterpillar has been a sponsor of NC State University's Supply Chain Resource Cooperative (SCRC) for many years. By sponsoring student projects through their Supply Chain Practicum courses, we have received solutions and recommendations to Caterpillar supply chain issues, and we have provided students with opportunities to apply their academic knowledge and research to real-life business situations. We have sponsored numerous projects addressing issues within almost every area of supply chain management from procurement and inventory management, to transportation and logistics. Our collaboration with SCRC has been a truly valuable relationship."
