Bio

Odessa H. McGlown is a Continuous Improvement Strategist that partners with her customers—both internal and external—to help them realize efficiencies in their processes, achieve their goals, and add value. Odessa is a trained project manager, facilitator, team builder, and mentor. She is a veteran who proudly served this country as an Army Staff Sergeant.

After spending twenty‐one years in NCDOT providing strategic support on improvement initiatives at all levels, Odessa knows that what drives systemic improvement is not perfect processes or extreme technical competence. It is the commitment to being better today that you were yesterday without allowing perfect to become the enemy of better.

Utilizing various improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques, Odessa has led program initiatives involving people, processes and technology that saved the State of North Carolina millions of dollars through improvements in project management, process control, technology assessment and integration, and customer service. She is most proud of her ability to build relationships with business partners at all levels, to effectively coach and provide direction to achieve desired business results, and to improve the efficiency and scalability of processes‐‐ensuring the highest level of quality while minimizing operational risk.

She holds undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Business Administration, as well as a Master’s in Management from the University of Central Texas and a Master’s in Human Resources Management from Chapman University.
