Irene is known for initiating and managing powerful initiatives, strategies, systems, and processes that a financially attractive, reduce risk, and that generate positive change.  She has a strong background in process and program management, supplier sourcing and contracting in a broad range of commodities, IT, pharmaceutical distribution, operations management, and quality principles. Irene has a passion of teaching, mentoring, sharing, and connecting others.

  • Irene has worked in major corporations and trade associations for over 20 years, including AT&T, Lucent Technologies/Bell Labs (now Nokia), Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, AmerisourceBergen, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, and Syngenta.    She has received multiple awards for leading successful teams, programs, and processes, and for her successes in developing supplier strategies, negotiating, and managing supplier contracts (including managing up to $4B in global contracts), and for her leadership in purchasing and supply management training and certification programs.  She has held multiple board positions for the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), including 3 affiliates and the ISM National Risk Management Group, and was president of the ISM – Northern Virginia affiliate.  Irene has also been a frequent speaker at major supply chain and financial conferences and at universities.

  • Irene worked at a Shire Pharmaceuticals through Source One Management Consulting to lead efforts related to development of their IT Sourcing Strategy and in assisting with high profile negotiations with key suppliers.  She also was an advisor to students at University of Maryland, Drexel, and Temple in behalf of ISM for the National Capital Area, Northern Virginia, and Philadelphia affiliates.
