Supply Chain Explores Digital Scouting in the Era of COVID-19

In the spring of 2020, economic prosperity came to a standstill when COVID-19 mushroomed across the globe, leaving the flow of supply chain stagnant. A year later, supply chain, along with many other jobs, began to utilize digital scouting as a means to recruit new employees.

This, of course, has created obstacles. According to Christine Castaneda, head of professional recruitment at Central at the Adecco Group North America, “While [digital scouting] has provided companies the opportunity to source levels of talent outside of their local market, it has also presented a challenge to companies . . . [who] do not have the ability to work remote.”

Essentially, digital scouting is that it allows more of a reach to diverse candidates. Moreover, workers will still employ the devices that helped companies during the pandemic such as video conferencing, even after they have situated themselves back at their physical job locations.
