NC State Jenkins Full-time MBA Jumps in Bloomberg Ranking
The 2018 Bloomberg Businessweek Best Business Schools full-time MBA rankings released today elevated the NC State Poole College of Management’s Jenkins MBA program to No. 47 among full-time MBA programs in the United States, up from No. 70 in 2017. This is the seventh year NC State has participated in the biennial ranking.
Bloomberg reviewed its ranking methodology for 2018 and made significant changes. In an effort to truly reflect the outcomes of graduates, the survey designed the metrics around four indexes:
- Compensation
- Networking
- Learning
- Entrepreneurship
Rather than assign the indexes the relative weightings administratively, Bloomberg decided to let the students, alumni and recruiters decide the importance of each and then parlayed those results into the overall ranking of each school.
NC State’s Jenkins MBA fared particularly well in the Learning index at No. 16 and the Entrepreneurship index at No. 25. Overall, 124 schools were considered for the 2018 rankings; 92 of those are in the US.
“This ranking demonstrates what we have long known to be true –– NC State provides not just tremendous career growth opportunities, but also a strong foundation of management knowledge and entrepreneurial mindset. Our curriculum is a reflection of real market needs and emphasizes the value to organizations of graduates who possess creative and critical thinking. Most of our graduates get great jobs, but a critical mass start successful companies.” said Steve Allen, associate dean of graduate programs and research at the Poole College of Management.
NC State is currently accepting applications for the Jenkins MBA programs starting in fall 2019. For more information, visit http://www.mba.ncsu.edu. The NC State Jenkins MBA is available in three formats: full-time, professional evening and professional online.
