SCRC Executive Director Rob Handfield and Eugene Schneller, professor of supply chain management at Arizona State University, were recently featured on WNIN radio to discuss the basics of the medical supply chain and the effects the events of 2020 have had on it.

Host Sarah Lemancyzk described the pair as “a CSI team – for health care supply chains.”

“Part of the problem is that most hospitals are really, really bad at managing supply chains – they’re not very good at it,” Handfield said.

The two went on to discuss how the onset of COVID-19 created a “perfect storm” of factors that sent the healthcare supply chain into a tailspin.
